Exploration of historical details the forte of Archaeology

Archaeology is not your everyday topic in Hereford, and yet it has long been. The immediate Hereford area, particularly Tierra Blanca Creek and expanses of Deaf Smith County are home to historic features dating back to early cultures here. Artifacts from centuries ago are of prime interest to archaeologists, particularly along Tierra Blanca Creek, Garcia Lake in the far western reaches of the county, and the eastward drainages of the Tierra Blanca toward Buffalo Lake National Wildlife Refuge and beyond.
