Chinese and Peruvian archaeologists will begin joint field research in Peru's Caral archaeological zone, the site of the oldest known urban center in the Americas.
Archaeologists have discovered a high-ranking tomb from the Han Dynasty (206BC-AD220) in Hohhot, capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Beyond unearthed artifacts, excavation of the tomb has provided insight into the cultural exchanges between China's frontier regions and the Central Plains over 2,000 years ago.
